My name is Charlsie and I am that girl that always had a camera in her hand. I started doing "shoots" of my family when I got my first camera when I was only in 6th grade. (I still think of that Vivitar point-and-shoot fondly!) I started as a school teacher but my life took several unexpected turns. My husband and I have lived in several towns and cities in Texas, but we now call Wise County home. I was surprised to find myself a stay home mom again. I spent more time taking pictures. People kept asking me to take pictures of them. I am a little slow but I eventually caught on that I have found a way to serve my community and my family with something that I loved. My husband and two sons were so grateful that I was taking pictures of someone else. I missed my teaching job very much but I kept going! I was surprised once again when I was asked to become the photography teacher for a homeschool association. It was a full-circle moment for me. I wrote a curriculum and later started offering it online. I am always filled with a sense of honor that people let me share their lives to help create images to treasure.
If I am not taking pictures, you will find me with a nose in a book, rattling pans in the kitchen, chasing God with my friends from church, or trying to talk my husband into going to another National Park. My adorable Labrador, Chewie, will probably be with me.
